What we do

Three ways we help you build public WiFi

Whether you want to run a hotspot, aggregate hotspots or offer the app that connects users, we support you at every step.

Public Data Office

PDO setup

A PDO is a location where people can use public Wi-Fi. We help shops, entrepreneurs and local businesses start one, with no licence fee for the PDO itself.

  • Site and connectivity assessment
  • PM-WANI compatible WiFi device supply
  • Technician installation and SIM setup
  • Onboarding with a registered PDOA
  • Training on running and recharging the hotspot

Aggregator

PDOA services

A PDOA aggregates PDOs and handles authorisation and accounting. We support organisations that want to run PDOA operations.

  • Guidance on DoT registration and Central Registry sign-up
  • PDOA platform and captive portal setup
  • PDO onboarding, authentication and accounting workflow
  • Billing, reporting and settlement support
  • Certification and go-live assistance

App Provider

App Provider solutions

An App Provider offers the app that lets users register, find nearby hotspots and buy data plans. We help you build and launch one.

  • Mobile app for user registration and hotspot discovery
  • Plan purchase and secure UPI payment integration
  • Integration with the PM-WANI Central Registry
  • Deployment, testing and certification support
  • Maintenance and updates

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a licence to become a PDO?

No. A PDO does not need to pay a licence fee or register with DoT. A PDO connects through a registered PDOA, which handles onboarding.

What do PDOAs and App Providers need?

They register with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), then sign up with the PM-WANI Central Registry and get their software certified. An Indian company registered in India is eligible, and no prior telecom licence is required.

Is there a registration fee for PDOA or App Provider?

Under the PM-WANI framework, PDOAs and App Providers do not pay a licence fee. Our service fees depend on the setup you need.

How much do your services cost?

Pricing depends on the role and the scope, such as devices, installation, platform or app work. Contact us for a quote.

Do you supply the WiFi devices?

Yes. We supply PM-WANI compatible WiFi devices and arrange installation, with a 90-day warranty.

How long does it take to go live?

A PDO setup can be quick once connectivity and onboarding are ready. PDOA and App Provider projects take longer because of registration, software deployment and certification. We will give you a timeline after a consultation.

Please note: PDOA and App Provider roles need registration with the Department of Telecommunications and sign-up with the PM-WANI Central Registry. WANICONNECT is an independent business, not a government body. Registration details: YOUR_REGISTRATION_DETAILS
